- Laura WMy daughter had been asking me to try a karate class for months. When Sensei Campos had his first open house, when he was opening the school, she tried a class. She was hooked. Sensei Campos makes learning the techniques and forms fun. He uses games to keep the kids engaged in learning. At The Universal School of Karate, the emphasis is not just on the karate forms and techniques but creating well rounded students. School grades and behavior at home looked at each time the child is ready for the next belt. They also offer monthly activities such as movies day, bowling, and the trampoline park. These activities allow the students to socialize with their karate peers outside the school. The students are dedicated and motivated because of the leadership. I would highly recommend The Universal School of Karate.
- Stephanie MThis is an excellent school! The instructor has a vast amount of knowledge in all types of martial arts and expertise in teaching young children up to adults. He is very patient and explains concepts, positions, forms, etc for a wide variety of learners. I enrolled my son in classes without knowing anything about karate - I have learned so much just by watching what Sensei Luis teaches in the classes. My son has been taking karate here since October of 2018 and loves it! Children learn discipline, how to focus, self-confidence, boosting self esteem, and how to apply what they learn to their everyday lives. The prices are very reasonable. In addition, there is a family event at least once a month - I find these events very enjoyable and they allow the parents and their children to interact with the other parents and children - it is very family oriented.
- Leanne WMy 6 yr old son has struggled socially and in school since we moved here from California, following a lot of life changes. For two years, I have dealt with constant behavior problems, to the point that I thought I would have to quit my job to get a better handle on the situation. We tried Universal Karate with Sensei Campos. At first my son was reluctant, as he has disliked social settings, as well as structured settings. It was a chore to bring him in. And it was hard to watch him be constantly distracted, while distracting the other children in the class. Sensei was gentle but firm, and slowly I began to see a change in my sons response to him. Not only did he start obeying in karate class, but has actually turned a 180 at home and in school as well. My son has had a change of heart, and he cannot wait to meet the milestones towards earning his next belt. I’m a firm believer in “its takes a village” and I’m so lucky to have Universal Karate and Sensei Campos in our village. I’ve s...
